“Go away in May, but remember to come back in September”

The old investors’ adage  - nothing much happens in the summer and things will pick up when everybody is back at their desks. An increasing number of people believe that towards the end of this year, markets will, if not pick up, at least bottom out.

The UK market was one of the first to fall and has fallen further than anywhere else since the peak. When and how the market will evolve is a matter of huge debate.

At the EG Investment Summit 2009, you’ll hear for yourself what the experts think. During the Summit, organised by Estates Gazette and sister title EuroProperty, investors and bankers will discuss not only their outlook, but also practical issues, such as the availability of debt and equity.

Key topics for discussion include:

  • What capital is available?
  • Where is it coming from and what does it cost?
  • Who are the ‘new’ lenders, filling the gaps left by the banks?
  • Will the securitised debt market return? When will the banks be back?
  • How much are UK pension funds and insurance companies allocating to property?
